Dr Johnson George
Dr Johnson George is an Associate Professor at Monash University’s Centre for Medicine
Use and Safety and holds a tenured Teaching & Research position since 2007. He has
completed a Master of Pharmacy (1999 – MGR Medical University), Post Graduate Diploma
in Operations Management (2001 – IGNOU), PhD (2005 – Monash University) and Graduate
Certificate in Higher Education (2008 – Monash University). He has published more than 150
research papers in peer reviewed journals, has secured and managed research grants worth
more than $7 million and has supervised 11 students to completion of their PhD. He is the
Graduate Coordinator for Centre for Medicine Use and Safety, an Associate Editor of British
Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and a member of Monash University’s Academic
Board. Since 2019 he has served as the Finance Convener of the St Alphonsa Cathedral
Parish Melbourne and as a member of the Building Executive Committee. The Cathedral
Finance Team under Johnson’s leadership has been instrumental in raising funds of more
than $1 million through multiple State government grants and other fundraisers. Johnson
also serves as the Secretary and as one of the Directors of the Syro-Malabar Cultural Centre.
